I spent December doing small group user testing and improving the overall user experience with Calmi. I made changes to the bot’s responses to improve the flow of the conversation. I’m currently looking into ways to make the bot more user friendly to first time users, since most users weren’t getting the most out of the bot’s benefits.
Related to Calmi, I’ve been learning frontend development using React and TypeScript. It’s quite a difficult task but I’m making steady progress. I’m building my own blog website alongside learning these skills. This allows me to put what I learn into practice and build something cool.
I am also in talks with professors and counsellors at UCL who will hopefully help me refine Calmi’s services to make it a more complete service. Additionally, I am in talks with NGOs in Hong Kong who will help me get Calmi into the hands of more users. That way, I can build a more concrete feedback loop and develop Calmi to better address the needs of users. I am very excited to see what will come from these opportunities!
In other news, I was recently invited to ASES Summit @ Stanford for my entrepreneurial endeavours. The summit is an immersive conference that gathers 30 student entrepreneurs from around the globe at Stanford. There, I will take part in a series of intensive workshops, network with top students, and attend seminars by industry leaders like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel (crazy)!!!
I am incredibly excited for this chance to mingle with other like-minded individuals to solve the world’s most challenging problems.
