JGP: February Update

I am happy to announce that I have begun beta-testing Calmi. I have recruited 36 participants—mostly comprised of university students from the UK, Hong Kong, and Taiwan—for four weeks of committed testing. Special thanks to Netaniah Pinto for the recruitment help.

On other notes, I’m still studying frfront-end development. I recently completed a comprehensive React.js course designed by Meta. It feels good to know that I can contribute more to the development side of Calmi by understanding how the code base works, however the road ahead is still long and there is much to learn.

In the coming weeks, I will survey the testers each week and implement their suggestions into the service via weekly updates to Calmi. I aim to use these four weeks to test for product-market fit. Hopefully, by the end of the study period, I would’ve developed something that some beta testers love and would want to continue using after the study period.

I’ll also be traveling to San Francisco for the ASES Summit @ Stanford at the end of March. Excited to share my progress with Calmi and see what experiences that opportunity opens up!

As for my personal-blog side project, happy to say that I’ve started working on that during my free time. It’s nice to be able to implement the web development skills I learned into a little passion project. I feel like I’m learning web development concepts faster with this side project as I’m forced to use and adjust the knowledge to fit my needs. Can’t wait to show you all the finished product.
